The news media, mainly in the USA does not
portray México in a positive light. In fact, most of the reporting
is blatantly false. Irregardless of the reasons for the deliberate negative
reporting, México is actually a great place to live and do business.
There is crime in México. There is a drug problem in México.
However, there are crime and drug problems in every country. Most cities
in México are safer than cities in the USA.
Many people have come to the conclusion that
the USA media has slanted reporting on many issues, like politics, the
economy and foreign countries. The same goes for the reporting of México.
Here are just a few points about México:
- The legal system is similiar to that of the USA. Contracts are golden
in México. That is a good thing.
- Traveling within México is safe.
- Labor law in México is favorable believe it or not. Employees are
protected. That is a good thing and It's good for business to have
happy employees.
- The government at all levels in México is friendly to foreigners
whether on vacation or conducting business.
- México has a great culture, great food, and is a beautiful country
rich with natural resources.
- Méxican workers have a great work ethic, are loyal, and in many cases,
always looking to better themselves. They take great pride in their
work.
Obviously, no matter where you are, whether in New Orleans, Detroit,
Los Angeles, Atlanta, Windsor, Paris, Mexico City, Tijuana, or Chihuahua
- one has to be vigilent and avoid dangerous areas where crime, prostitution
and drugs are prevelant.
There are tremendous opportunities in México and Latin America. In fact,
are you aware that México is fast approaching becoming the hub of aerospace,
medical, nano technology, renewable energy, and other hi-tech industries?
Come to México. Find out for yourself. |
Mexican Production Costs Are Lower than China and India
Study by AlixPartners - May 2009
The business consulting and analysis firm AlixPartners has for several
years published a study analyzing production costs for offshore manufacturing
of goods conducted in different countries. The study takes into account
factors such as labor costs, exchange rates, transportation costs,
raw materials cost and availability, and customs procedures. In accordance
with the study recently published by AlixPartners, in 2008 Mexico
gained the top spot for the country with the lowest cost of production,
followed by India and China respectively. The study reveals that
production costs for similar goods are 25% lower in Mexico than in
the United States, while production costs in China are only 6% lower
than those in the United States. This is true even though transportation
costs increased in the last year. However, such consulting firm considers
that Mexico's greatest asset is its strategic location, and the existence
of the North American Free Trade Agreement, which provide significant
competitive advantages. AlixPartners does not expect Mexico to cede
its first place position to either China or India in 2009. |

5 reasons Mexico is best...
EETimes - August 7, 2009
Most individuals are aware of NAFTA, the free trade agreement eliminating
duties between Mexico, Canada and the United States but what many
don't know is that Mexico has free trade agreements with 43 nations
worldwide.
In addition to North America, Mexico has free trade agreements with
the nations of the European Union, most of Latin and South America
as well as Japan. A free trade agreement is also in process with
Korea.
As a result of Mexico's leadership in negotiating free trade agreements,
it is uniquely positioned to be a location for low-cost manufacturing
and duty-free distribution for the world's products to the United
States and for U.S. products to the remainder of the world.
In addition, to bolster their position as a key venue for high technology,
Mexico has begun to emphasize the enforcement of intellectual property
rights whether domestic or foreign owned. Mexico's position on intellectual
property protection is in stark contrast to the position held by
many of the governments in Asia. |
